The Gwangju City Council of the Barugesalgi Movement announced on the 19th that it held a Unity Festival at Opo Sports Park on the 18th.

원본보기 아이콘About 200 people, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, key internal and external guests, and members of the Barugesalgi Council, attended the event, which proceeded in the order of watching a video of the 2024 activity achievements, awarding commendations to meritorious persons, the chairman's address, encouragement speech, congratulatory speech, reading of the resolution, and singing of the association song.
Chairman Kim Seong-su of the council said, “This meaningful event was held to encourage the efforts of members who have volunteered for marginalized neighbors and regional development throughout the area this year and to strengthen unity,” adding, “We will continue to do our best for a safe and happy Gwangju.”
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Since the Barugesalgi Movement was first established 35 years ago in 1989, members have been practicing the three core spirits of truth, order, and harmony, actively engaging in activities such as the Taegeukgi flag-raising promotion campaign, crime prevention activities, environmental cleanup, and volunteer work to help neighbors, contributing to regional development,” and added, “I hope that through this festival, members will unite and work even harder to create a healthy and warm Gwangju City.”
