Excel Therapeutics Partners with China Blue Mage for Badge Business Collaboration

Excel Therapeutics, a cell gene therapy culture media company, announced on the 19th that it attended the 'Hainan Forum' held for two days from the 17th to the 18th at the Huaqiao Intercontinental Hotel in Haikou, Hainan Province, China.

The Hainan Forum was held under the theme of 'International exchange on life science technology and bio-related fields among Korea, China, and Japan.' It was an opportunity to explore ways for China to develop by drawing inspiration from the advanced bio technologies of Korea and Japan, and to establish measures for advancing the bioindustry across China, including the Hainan Medical Special Zone. The forum was hosted by Blue Mage Biotechnology and Beijing Langzha Hana Asset Management Co., Ltd.

Earlier, on the 13th, Excel Therapeutics signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Blue Mage for the supply of T-cell media. Blue Mage officially invited Excel Therapeutics, its strategic partner in the immune cell media business, which is a future core project.

The Hainan Forum was attended by senior Chinese government officials, Zhao Yan (趙燕), chairman of the Blue Mage Group, executives from major financial companies of Korea, China, and Japan, and bioindustry experts.

Hainan, a global medical special zone, is a special area under the leadership of the Chinese government that simplifies the import approval period and procedures for overseas advanced pharmaceuticals, serving as a foothold for global bio companies to begin full-scale supply to China.

Lee Woon, head of China Business Division at Excel Therapeutics, who attended the Hainan Forum, introduced, "The Hainan Medical Special Zone, leading the advanced bioindustry trends in China, is the most suitable region as a forward base for the entry of Chemically Defined Media into the Chinese market." He added, "Through attending the forum, we had the opportunity to widely promote the excellence of Excel Therapeutics’ ‘CellCor’ to the Chinese market and academia."

Lee also introduced, "Excel Therapeutics and Blue Mage Biotechnology will make the Hainan Medical Special Zone the core base for the immune cell media business and supply immune cell media to various companies and institutions within China." He emphasized, "With the officialization of our entry into China through the Hainan Forum, we will accelerate business cooperation with Blue Mage and speed up our advance into the Chinese advanced bio market."
