AhnLab announced on the 18th that its research and development personnel have recently won awards consecutively at major domestic digital forensic competitions.
This month, AhnLab received the Excellence Award at the KDFS Challenge 2024 and the Bronze Prize in the Senior division at the 10th Find the Digital Culprit Competition.
The 'Ppanghuru' team, a single research team from AhnLab, won the Excellence Award at the KDFS Challenge 2024 award ceremony held on the 16th at Hansung University as a side event of the 2024 Winter Academic Conference of the Korea Digital Forensics Society.
The company stated that the Ppanghuru team was selected for the Excellence Award due to their outstanding digital evidence analysis on intrusion incident scenarios that could occur in actual companies. The KDFS Challenge is a digital forensic problem-solving competition hosted by the Korea Digital Forensics Society since 2014, and this year it was held under the theme of "Proving Internal Corporate Information Leakage Circumstances."
Additionally, AhnLab A-FIRST team researcher Jeong Hyun-woo received the Bronze Prize in the Senior division at the award ceremony of the 10th Find the Digital Culprit Competition held the previous day at the National Forensic Center of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
The Find the Digital Culprit Competition is a cybercrime analysis contest co-hosted by the Korea Forensic Society and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, with sponsorship from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. It is divided into Junior division (university students and below) and Senior division (general public or experts).
Researcher Jeong Hyun-woo was recognized for presenting a practical digital investigation approach to online copyright infringement crimes using digital forensic technology in this competition.
