On the 16th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, along with key guests and local residents, attended the 'Beondong Moa Town Groundbreaking Invitation Day' held in the Moa Town area of Beondong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. They signaled the start of construction by turning the first soil and then applauded. Beondong Moa Town in Gangbuk-gu, selected as the first Moa Town?a model for renovating aging low-rise residential areas in Seoul?has completed tenant relocation and is finally commencing construction. This comes about three years after the city announced the Moa Town and Moa Housing promotion plan. Beondong Moa Town was chosen as a pilot project site in January 2022 alongside the announcement of the Moa Town and Moa Housing promotion plan, and has since progressed rapidly with full administrative support from the city and Gangbuk-gu. Demolition began last month, with completion and occupancy scheduled for 2028.
