Hanwha Group announced on the 16th that it has donated 4 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea for year-end neighborly aid. Major affiliates including Hanwha TotalEnergies, Hanwha Corporation, Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Ocean, Hanwha Life Insurance, and Hanwha General Insurance participated.
Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, has emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management in his New Year's and anniversary speeches. In particular, based on the social contribution philosophy of "Together Far," which embodies sustainability and inclusiveness, he has urged raising social awareness and actively fulfilling corporate responsibilities.
Accordingly, Hanwha continues to play its role as a corporate citizen through various social contribution activities. Representative programs include "Making Clear Schools," which improves elementary school learning environments in an eco-friendly way to respond to climate change; the educational program "Pebbles of the Universe" for nurturing creative future science talents; and the idea competition "Hanwha Science Challenge." The production and free distribution of braille calendars for the visually impaired, reflecting consideration for socially vulnerable groups, has been ongoing for 25 years.
A Hanwha official said, "We continue various social contribution activities every year to practice values of growing and coexisting with our neighbors," adding, "We decided on this donation with the hope that it will bring warm comfort and practical help to local communities and marginalized neighbors."
