The small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector expressed on the 14th its hope that the passage of the presidential impeachment motion in the National Assembly will minimize political turmoil and resolve economic uncertainties.
The Korea Federation of SMEs stated in a press release on the same day, "We urge the ruling and opposition parties to cooperate across party lines to overcome the livelihood crisis, and ask the government to have economic ministers take the lead in ensuring that the country's credit rating does not fall and financial market instability does not spread by doing their utmost."
It added, "We propose operating an emergency economic inspection meeting involving the ruling and opposition parties, the government, and the business community to overcome the crisis facing the Korean economy and quickly restore stability." The SME sector will also calmly carry out business operations and production activities to focus on stabilizing livelihoods and creating jobs."
