Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok Orders "Do Not Be Swayed by Political Situations, Focus on Stabilizing People's Livelihoods"

On the 14th, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok held an emergency executive meeting to discuss measures for stabilizing people’s livelihoods after the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was passed in the National Assembly.


At the meeting attended by the Deputy Mayor for Administration, Deputy Mayor for Global City Affairs, Director of Planning and Coordination Office, and Head of the Citizen Safety Headquarters, Mayor Yoo urged them to fully focus on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and public security to ensure there are no disruptions in responding to emergency situations.


He also emphasized the need to once again review the disaster management response system for winter cold waves and to do their utmost to support local small business owners and self-employed workers.

The city plans to hold a meeting on the 16th with heads of departments and deputy heads of districts and counties to review measures for stabilizing the low-income economy as well as winter safety management plans. Earlier, on the 9th, the city formed a task force (TF) led by the Deputy Mayor for Administration to manage the situation and prepare measures for stabilizing people’s livelihoods.


Mayor Yoo instructed, “All public officials in Incheon City should not be swayed by political situations and must establish a work attitude focused on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and serving the citizens.”


He added, “We must be fully prepared to respond to security threats such as North Korean provocations,” and stressed, “At the same time, we will check the integrated defense posture with the military, fire services, and police, and do our best to prevent any gaps in public security and people’s livelihoods.”
