원본보기 아이콘On the 12th, Park Seong-jae, Minister of Justice, whose duties were suspended following the passage of the impeachment motion by the National Assembly, expressed that he "cannot agree at all."
Minister Park stated, "I apologize for not being able to fulfill my duties as a member of the State Council and for the situation leading to impeachment," but added, "The reasons for the impeachment are merely speculation or suspicion, and I cannot agree with them at all." He also said, "I will respond faithfully during the Constitutional Court's impeachment proceedings."
Minister Park expressed, "I sincerely hope that the ongoing impeachment motions against opposition party members of the State Council do not result in paralyzing the functions of the executive branch."
On the same day, the National Assembly held a plenary session and passed the impeachment motion against Park Seong-jae, Minister of Justice, related to the December 3 emergency martial law incident. Out of 295 members present, 195 voted in favor.
