The 2nd BNK Gyeongnam Bank Connecting with US event is part of the CHAIN-G (Gyeongnam Bank Startup Support Brand) program, designed and promoted to create a platform where local startups and metropolitan investors can meet.


In particular, at this event, BNK Gyeongnam Bank, Gyeongsangnam-do, and five regionally focused universities signed an ‘Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Agreement for Revitalizing Youth Startups in the Province’ to support startups.


The Connecting with US event, held over two days on the 12th and 13th, was attended by Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do; Bin Dae-in, Chairman of BNK Financial Group; Ye Kyung-tak, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank; Kwon Jin-hoe, President of Gyeongsang National University; Park Min-won, President of Changwon National University; Jeon Min-hyun, President of Inje University; Lee Hak-jin, President of Masan University; Hong Jeong-hyo, Vice President of Gyeongnam National University; Yoon Geon-su, Chairman of the Korea Venture Capital Association; as well as VC/AC (metropolitan investors), startup companies, and related personnel, totaling over 200 attendees.


During the CHAIN-G project and performance presentation, BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced various achievements made by supporting 17 startups through the CHAIN-G INCUBATOR program.


Additionally, BNK Gyeongnam Bank revealed its 2025 startup support direction and win-win finance practice plans for regional coexistence, including △operating the ‘CHAIN-G INCUBATOR program’ focused on practical results △strengthening financial support for startup growth.


Subsequently, BNK Gyeongnam Bank, Gyeongsangnam-do, and five regionally focused universities signed the ‘Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Agreement for Revitalizing Youth Startups in the Province’.


According to the agreement, participating institutions and universities will cooperate to grow local industries and create youth jobs by revitalizing local youth and university startups.


President Ye Kyung-tak stated, “We expect that the Connecting with US event, held jointly with Gyeongsangnam-do, will greatly help attract investment to local startups and revitalize the regional economy. BNK Gyeongnam Bank plans to continuously provide opportunities to support startups through events like Connecting with US.”


The second part of the event featured company presentations and Q&A sessions by seven representative startups recommended by participating institutions and universities, while the third part included various networking sessions to facilitate meetings and smooth investment attraction between local startups and metropolitan investors.


On the second day, the 13th, a ‘1:1 Meetup between Investors and Startups’ will be held, where VC/AC (metropolitan investors) and local startup companies and related personnel will explore investment opportunities through consultations.


Meanwhile, BNK Gyeongnam Bank is supporting startup growth through the CHAIN-G project as part of this year’s ESG and win-win finance practices, having selected and nurtured 17 startups through the CHAIN-G INCUBATOR program.
