Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced on the 12th that on the afternoon of the 11th, it signed an agreement with Daesin Gikong, High Tech Engineering, and Yuhan Technology to prioritize hiring local residents at Yeosu Industrial Complex companies in the mayor's office.


The 'Priority Hiring of Local Residents at Yeosu Industrial Complex Companies' is a policy promoted by the city to increase the employment rate of local talent in industrial complex companies and contribute to population growth. The number of companies participating in the agreement has expanded to 37.

This agreement is significant in that the representatives of three local hometown companies, who have been practicing priority hiring of local residents, sympathized with the purpose and expressed their active willingness to participate.


According to the agreement, the three companies will prioritize hiring local residents, and the city will promote improvement and maintenance projects for infrastructure such as roads, rivers, and transportation within the industrial complex to create a business-friendly environment.


The representatives of the companies in the agreement said, "This agreement is a way to prevent young people from leaving the region by enabling them to settle stably in their hometown, and it is a win-win plan for local governments and companies," adding, "As local companies rooted in Yeosu, we will actively participate in the development of city administration."


Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong said, "Despite the difficult situation of the industrial complex economy, we appreciate your leadership in advancing regional development," and added, "We hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to encourage other companies within the industrial complex to join the agreement."
