The six opposition parties submitted a request for a national investigation into the state of rebellion to the National Assembly on the 12th.
The six opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea and the Party for Justice Innovation, submitted the request for a national investigation to the National Assembly on the same day.
Park Seong-jun, the senior deputy floor leader of the Democratic Party, said, "Did they not come with guns to invade the legislative body that monitors and checks the executive branch?" and added, "It is a procedure that must be followed as a constitutional institution."
Earlier, Speaker Woo Won-shik announced the activation of the national investigation authority related to the 12.3 martial law incident.
The day before, Speaker Woo held an emergency press conference and said, "President Yoon Seok-yeol tried to forcibly prevent the National Assembly's resolution to lift martial law by making it impossible for the National Assembly to exercise its authority. The situation is serious," and added, "We will conduct a national investigation into the 12.3 martial law incident."
Regarding the future attendance of President Yoon as a witness in the national investigation, Senior Deputy Floor Leader Park said, "It is difficult to make a judgment at this time."
