Lyricist Kim Eana apologized after it was revealed that she used terms from the far-right website Ilbe (Ilgan Best Storage), which sparked controversy.
On the 9th, during MBC Radio's "Starry Night," Kim Eana said, "The weekend and today have been tough already, and our Owls (a nickname for listeners) must have felt even more unsettled," adding, "I was watching everything too, and the controversy in question is definitely not true."
She continued, "At first, I wanted to explain where I encountered that word and in what context I used it. It was very embarrassing," but added, "The more I thought about it, the less important that became. Since I used such an inappropriate word and caused great concern, I am truly sorry about that." She also said, "From now on, I will make sure that such a thing never happens again under any circumstances," and added, "I felt that writing it in text wouldn't convey it well, so I wanted to say it here."
Meanwhile, Kim Eana began her career as a lyricist in 2003 and has gained fame as a star lyricist with over 300 hit songs. Some of the songs she wrote lyrics for include Brown Eyed Girls' "Eojjeoda" (Somehow), "Abracadabra," and "Sign," IU's "Jansori" (Nagging), "Good Day," "You and I," "End of a Day," and "Pink Shoes," K.Will's "Please Don't...," Lee Sun-hee's "Meeting You Among Them," and IVE's "I AM," among others.
