A-Root announced on the 10th that it will intensify its attack on the premium POS (Point Of Sale) printer market based on its position as the No. 1 domestic kitchen order printing POS printer market leader. A-Root plans to maximize its performance by entering the high value-added premium POS printer market centered on the recently launched new product, ‘SLK-CB125’.

Recently, A-Root released the high-end product SLK-CB125, which enhances performance and design elements to expand sales and profits. The company explained that sales of the new product are expected to proceed smoothly as it already maintains close partnerships with major domestic POS manufacturers supplying POS printers.


A-Root holds a monopolistic position, recording over 80% market share in the domestic kitchen order printing POS printer market for two consecutive years. Since entering the POS printer market in 2002 with its own brand ‘SEWOO,’ it has conducted quality improvement research to maximize quality competitiveness compared to competitors, and with excellent price competitiveness, it quickly established itself in the domestic market.


A-Root is continuously conducting research and development to strengthen its market dominance. In July this year, it succeeded in obtaining a domestic patent for the ‘device and method for processing printing from a terminal,’ and recently completed filing a patent related to kitchen printers.


An A-Root official said, “To solidify the position of the ‘SEWOO’ brand in the domestic POS printer market, we released two new products this year, and especially plan to aggressively target the premium market centered on the SLK-CB125. Since we already have a dominant brand awareness in the domestic market and have secured almost all distribution networks, sales of the new product are expected to expand rapidly.”


He added, “Premium POS printers are high value-added products applied in restaurants, large supermarkets, and sold on a large scale. Through expanding sales of the new product, we will drive performance growth in A-Root’s printer business. In addition to POS printers, which account for the largest share of existing sales, we will strengthen domestic and international market penetration through continuous technological development in mobile printers and label printers.”
