Rep. Kim previously revealed that although he participated in the vote on President Yoon's impeachment motion on the 7th, he cast a 'no' vote in line with the party's stance.

He stated, "Based on the conservative values of upholding the constitutional order and the spirit of liberal democracy, and with a deeply apologetic heart, I will support the next impeachment vote against the president who planned an unconstitutional and anti-democratic martial law."

He also called on fellow party members to join the impeachment. Rep. Kim emphasized, "I believe it is the minimum duty for the ruling party responsible for the wrongdoing to act for the people. Although it is painful and distressing, we must fulfill the duty of participating in impeachment and self-reflection with the mindset of resolving our mistakes with our own hands." He added, "Afterwards, with the determination to start anew from the beginning, we must take one step at a time based on conservative values to regain the trust of the people."

Furthermore, Rep. Kim proposed, "The factional logic that our side is always right and the opposing side is always wrong, and that the opposing side can never be tolerated, has deeply rooted itself in our society since the Moon Jae-in administration's purge of accumulated evils, creating endless conflicts. We must break free from this old habit. Now, we should begin self-purification efforts to overcome factionalism and overcome demonization, retaliatory politics, and extreme confrontation."

In a Q&A session with reporters, Rep. Kim said, "I am a conservative and a liberal democrat. I believe that if one is silenced and cannot speak, liberal democracy collapses. No matter what intimidation there is, I will speak my mind and act according to my convictions." He added, "I hope the public will clearly see and severely punish those who engage in old-fashioned politics by intimidating or threatening political claims with a traitor frame or by muddying the issue through personal attacks to silence others."
