Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has completed the mechanical parking facility improvement construction at the Bohun Hall (Director Ha Sang-ho), resolving a long-standing issue that lasted over 10 years.

The parking lot at Bohun Hall, installed in 1997, only allowed entry for compact cars (1500cc), causing inconvenience for users. After 26 years, the facility had aged and was left unused for a long time, failing to function properly.

Accordingly, the district invested 300 million KRW to start remodeling. The facility area is 33.99㎡, and it was upgraded to accommodate not only compact cars but also vehicles weighing over 1859kg.

Along with this, structural diagnosis and supervision services were conducted to further enhance safety.

In particular, a ‘turntable built-in’ system that rotates 180 degrees during vehicle entry and exit was introduced to improve space efficiency. The width for vehicle entry and exit and the allowable weight were also expanded simultaneously. As a result, up to 9 SUVs and large sedans can now enter.

The completion ceremony was held on the 4th with 20 attendees, including Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho and Bohun Hall Director Ha Sang-ho. Following the curtain unveiling ceremony commemorating the completion, they carefully inspected the facilities together to check for any points needing improvement.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I am pleased that the long-standing wish of Bohun Hall members for over 10 years has been fulfilled,” and added, “We will continue to expand respect and policy support for the families of national veterans, never forgetting their dedication and sacrifice.”

Gwangjin-gu operates various projects to improve the welfare of veteran families. This year, the veteran honor allowance was raised to 70,000 KRW, and a new annual consolation payment of 300,000 KRW was provided for Korean War veterans. In addition, efforts are being made to improve veteran policies, including the establishment of memorial plaques for war veterans, expansion of support funds for visits to the National Cemetery, and additional holiday consolation payments for veterans aged 100 and above.
