S-Oil Introduces AI Assistant Service for Internal Work Support

As Part of Company-wide DX Strategy... Increased Work Efficiency

S-OIL announced on the 9th that it has introduced an in-house AI assistant service to improve work efficiency by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology as part of its company-wide digital transformation strategy.


The AI assistant provides answers to users' queries based on internal documents and data within systems, and also presents the source documents of the information. This prevents the issue of providing incorrect information and minimizes the possibility of data leakage.


S-OIL plans to expand the service to additional work areas such as finance and processes by 2025, and to enhance user convenience by introducing mobile support features. On the 3rd of this month, a company-wide briefing session was held to share how to use the service and its objectives.

A company representative said, "The AI assistant is a solution designed to prevent hallucination issues by providing answers based on internal documents using the latest GPT technology, and to be safely used in an enhanced security environment. It will serve as an opportunity to maximize organizational work efficiency while significantly improving employees' digital work experience."


S-OIL is establishing and promoting a company-wide digital transformation roadmap by utilizing new information technology (IT) innovations. This year, it built an integrated manufacturing operation management system at the Onsan plant and introduced an AI purchasing system company-wide. Currently, it is continuously advancing three core digital transformation tasks: digital factory, digital marketing, and smart work.
