Yoon Ina has virtually secured her LPGA Tour card for next year.
On the 8th (local time), at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club Grove Crossings (par 72) in Mobile, Alabama, USA, during the final round of the 2024 LPGA Tour Qualifying (Q) Series, she shot a 10-under-par 62, jumping from a tie for 16th place the previous day to a tie for 7th place (14-under-par 272). She made one eagle and eight birdies. After reducing six strokes in the front nine, she energized the back nine with four consecutive birdies from holes 13 to 16.
This tournament offers LPGA Tour cards for next year. It is played over five rounds and 90 holes. Rounds 1 to 4 alternate between the Magnolia Grove Crossings course and the Falls course (par 71), with the final round held again at the Crossings course. Players finishing within the top 25 secure their LPGA Tour cards for next year. Yoon Ina is a remarkable 10 strokes ahead of the group tied for 25th place (4-under-par 282).
This year's Q Series is dominated by Japanese players. Chisato Iwai (Japan) shot 10-under to take the top spot on the leaderboard (20-under-par 266). Miyu Yamashita (Japan) fired a 9-under-par 63 to sit in second place by one stroke (19-under-par 267). Liu Wei (China), who led the previous day, shot 3-under-par 69 and dropped to fourth place (17-under-par 269). For Korea, Park Geumgang finished 10th (11-under-par 275), Joo Subin 11th (10-under-par 276), and Lee Sehee tied for 30th (3-under-par 283) after the fourth round.
