원본보기 아이콘Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung stated on the 8th regarding the public statements made by Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, "The announcement by Han Dong-hoon and Han Duck-soo is invalid and unconstitutional."
In a post on Facebook that day, Mayor Kang pointed out, "By what authority do they claim to lead the state affairs? From whom exactly have they been delegated such authority?"
He added, "The only way for Prime Minister Han Duck-soo to be delegated authority over state affairs is through the procedures prescribed by the Constitution," urging impeachment proceedings against President Yoon Suk-yeol. He also criticized, "Han Dong-hoon deciding the timing of the president's resignation is an act that disrupts the Constitution."
Mayor Kang emphasized, "Impeachment is the only way to restore constitutional order," and insisted, "Han Dong-hoon should stop playing president and return to the Constitution."

Han stated, "By ensuring an orderly early resignation of the president, we will minimize the confusion that could affect the Republic of Korea and its people, stabilize the political situation, and restore liberal democracy."
Prime Minister Han said, "Putting the will of the people first, I will work together with the ruling party to pool wisdom and operate all state functions in a stable and smooth manner."
