As of 9 a.m. on the 8th, the fourth day of the nationwide Korea Railroad Workers' Union (KRWU) strike and a weekend, the train operation rate was recorded at 77.7% compared to normal times due to reduced operations caused by the strike. This is a 1.7 percentage point increase from the operation rate at 9 a.m. on the 7th.


The operation rates were 81.3% for metropolitan subway trains, 77.0% for KTX, 72.6% for passenger trains, and 35.0% for freight trains. Among 27,145 commuters, 7,726 participated in the strike. The strike participation rate was recorded at 28.5%, rising by 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous day.


The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport stated, "We are operating at 100.4% of the original plan by deploying substitute personnel and other measures."
