On June 8, SK On announced that its Quality Headquarters has been recognized as an 'Internationally Accredited Calibration Institution' with enhanced calibration capabilities by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS), under the National Institute of Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

KOLAS establishes an accreditation system that meets international standards to accredit testing, inspection, and calibration institutions that evaluate the safety and quality of products and services. This time, SK On received high recognition for the accurate measurement values of its battery cell quality evaluation equipment, such as charge-discharge devices, temperature, and temperature-humidity chambers, in four major categories: voltage, current, temperature, and humidity.

This demonstrates SK On's excellent quality verification capabilities once again since it first obtained accreditation four years ago, with an expanded scope of accreditation for each calibration item.

According to SK On, the applicable ranges include ▲ voltage (±0.1 volts to ±1000 volts) ▲ current (±0.1 amperes to ±1000 amperes) ▲ temperature (minus 40 degrees to plus 200 degrees Celsius) ▲ humidity (50% to 95%).

Accordingly, SK On can now evaluate battery cell quality more accurately even under extreme conditions such as a high-temperature environment of 200 degrees Celsius.

Ye Pil-su, head of SK On’s Quality Headquarters, stated, "With this accreditation and the expansion of the accreditation categories, SK On has established a more internationally reliable battery quality assurance process. We will continue to strengthen battery quality, including safety, and further develop the quality management system that forms the foundation of this process."
