Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, said on the 7th that "the president will be effectively excluded from his duties until his resignation" after the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was dismissed due to a lack of quorum.
On the same day, Han met with reporters at the National Assembly and said, "As the ruling party leader, I am deeply sorry to the people for the situation from the declaration of martial law until today." Han also bowed his head as a sign of apology.

That is why we were the first to step forward to stop the martial law, excluded related military officials from their positions, and had the president entrust the party with decisions regarding his term or position, effectively securing a promise of resignation."
He added, "The People Power Party will promote an orderly resignation of the president to minimize confusion. Since the president has already stated that he will follow the party's decision regarding his term, there will be no confusion."
Han said, "We will proceed in a predictable and transparent manner that is best for the Republic of Korea and its people, so that the public does not feel anxious. In this process, we will also consult with the Democratic Party of Korea." He continued, "The Prime Minister will coordinate with the party to ensure smooth state affairs. We will also thoroughly exchange opinions with the opposition parties."
