On the 6th (local time), the British Daily Mail reported, citing Brazilian local media G1, that Antonio Lopes de Siqueira (74) suddenly passed away 24 days after winning the Mega-Sena lottery prize of 201.96 million reais (approximately 47.6 billion won).

Local police stated that the man was receiving dental treatment at a hospital when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest and was transferred to a nearby university hospital, where he died. He was found lying face down in cardiac arrest in the treatment room. The police noted that although the man had pre-existing conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, considering that he had received the prize money only a short time ago, they are investigating the possibility that he may have been involved in some incident. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the detailed circumstances of the case.

Siqueira’s family stated, "He went to the hospital to receive dental implant surgery," but did not provide detailed explanations about the process. The hospital issued a statement saying they are carefully monitoring the family’s situation and providing necessary support.

Earlier, on November 9, Siqueira won 201.96 million reais by correctly matching all six two-digit numbers in the 2796th draw of the Mega-Sena lottery with a bet of only 5 reais (about 1,200 won). This draw had the highest prize amount among the lotteries drawn this year. The odds of winning a prize of this magnitude were 1 in 50,063,860.

Siqueira, a livestock farmer, was reportedly engaged in selling livestock. He had four children. It is known that after receiving dental treatment, Siqueira planned to buy a new house with the prize money.
