According to AFP and local media Bangkok Post, Thailand's disaster authorities announced that as of the 3rd local time, 25 people have died due to heavy rain and flooding that began on the 22nd of last month in southern Thailand.

Thailand's disaster authorities stated on Facebook that 660,000 households in 10 southern provinces have suffered damage such as flooding caused by the heavy rain.

Additionally, more than 22,000 displaced people have evacuated to temporary shelters and other locations.

With the water not receding quickly, six provinces including Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat remain severely flooded, and more than 300,000 households in these areas are still affected by the floods.

Meanwhile, the Thai Meteorological Department forecasted that heavy rain will continue across the southern regions until the 5th, urging caution against flooding.

Malaysia's disaster management authorities also reported that as of this day, five people have died due to flooding in northern areas such as Kelantan state, and more than 94,000 displaced people have not been able to return home.

Due to flooding in southern Thailand, a major rubber-producing area, the Thai Rubber Authority projected today that Thailand's rubber production this year could decrease by 320,000 tons (6.7%) from the government target of 4.78 million tons.
