Yeongju City (Mayor Park Nam-seo) announced on the 3rd that it received daily necessities worth 100 million KRW as a donation from the nonprofit organization Sharing Hope People (President Kim Jeong-an).
The donated items, totaling 1,200 boxes weighing 11 tons, will be delivered to neighbors in need within the region. Sharing Hope People also donated sponsorship goods worth 100 million KRW to Yeongju City last year.
The donated goods consist of essential daily items such as shampoo, body lotion, and dish detergent, and will be distributed through the Yeongju City Community Security Council to local children’s centers, social welfare facilities, and eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers, prioritizing support for vulnerable groups.
Since its establishment in 2007, the nonprofit organization Sharing Hope People has supported the growth of children and adolescents from low-income vulnerable groups. It collaborates with various institutions and organizations to provide broad support activities including scholarships, computer support, cultural experiences, and donations of daily necessities.
Since signing a business agreement with Yeongju City on September 14 last year, the organization has maintained a continuous cooperative relationship by providing scholarships totaling 24 million KRW over two years, paying 50,000 KRW monthly to 20 children from low-income families, and delivering computers worth approximately 3.6 million KRW to three children.
Lee Jong-woo, Director of the Welfare Policy Division, expressed deep gratitude to Sharing Hope People for practicing warm companionship and beautiful sharing, stating, “The daily necessities received this time will be of great help to vulnerable groups in the region.”
