Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) and the Yeoju Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation (Chairman Lee Soon-yeol) will conduct a nationwide vote for five days from the 4th to the 8th to select a slogan symbolizing 2025 as the "Year of the Beginning of Tourism in Yeoju."
From November 5th to 17th, a slogan contest for the 2025 "Year of the Beginning of Tourism in Yeoju" was held, receiving a total of 608 slogan submissions. The first round of judging was conducted by 10 members of the Yeoju Tourism Revitalization Promotion Team, who selected 10 entries through a fair evaluation process based on criteria such as clarity of meaning, popularity, and aesthetics.
The selected 10 slogans will undergo a second round of nationwide voting from the 4th to December 8th on the Yeoju City website under the Citizen Participation - Survey section, where the rankings from first to fifth place will be determined. The second round is open to all citizens, and the goal is to select three innovative expressions that promote "2025 Year of the Beginning of Tourism in Yeoju," embody the vision of "Yeoju as Korea's top tourist city where history, culture, and nature coexist," appeal to Yeoju's charm, and attract tourists' attention.
Based on the number of votes, a total of five works will be selected: one grand prize, two excellence awards, and two merit awards. The grand prize-winning slogan will be adopted as the representative slogan serving as the focal point for promoting the "2025 Year of the Beginning of Tourism in Yeoju." The total prize money amounts to 2 million KRW, with the Yeoju Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation awarding 1 million KRW to the grand prize winner, 300,000 KRW each to the two excellence award winners, and 200,000 KRW each to the two merit award winners.
Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City urged for active interest and participation to ensure the selection of a slogan that can herald the future of tourism in Yeoju.
