The introduction of this smart robot logistics system is part of logistics innovation through digitalization and automation, and its effectiveness has been proven through a demonstration that robots can safely deliver goods within the hospital.
The smart robot logistics system introduced by Samsung Changwon Hospital is based on large-scale logistics transfer robots, making it the first among hospitals in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. Previously, staff manually pulled heavy carts to transport goods between wards, but now, once items are loaded onto the cart, the robot autonomously transports them to the wards. The robot is linked with various infrastructures within the hospital, autonomously calling elevators, passing through screen doors, and recognizing obstacles and people to prevent collisions.
Through this system, Samsung Changwon Hospital has significantly improved the efficiency of logistics operations and created an environment where medical staff can reduce the time spent managing supplies and focus more on patient care.
Meanwhile, large-scale logistics transfer robots are suitable for hospital environments that need to handle various medical supplies and large volumes of goods. In particular, compared to the small robots introduced in many existing hospitals, these robots are characterized by their ability to efficiently transport large quantities of items.
