Paju-si Village Community Festival 'Pamagong Ulimpic' to be Held on the 8th

A Festival Sharing and Supporting Village Life Throughout the Year

The 2024 Paju City Village Community Festival ‘Pamagong Ulimpic,’ which shares and celebrates the year’s activities of village communities, will be held on the 8th at 2 PM at the Citizen Hall Grand Theater. On this day, over 50 village communities active in Paju will introduce and communicate their communities to citizens through exhibitions, experiences, and performances.

This year, with the Olympics as the theme, the village communities of Paju will open the event with a video passing on Parangi, Paju’s mascot, instead of a torch relay. During the community entrance show where all participating communities take the stage, there will be a time to support and remember each other for their hard work throughout the year, along with an awards ceremony and introduction of outstanding cases.

Additionally, to share the joys and sorrows of the communities, there will be a community story session featuring newly started village communities this year, an OX quiz for participants to enjoy together, a performance of ‘Gilnori’ by the children’s pungmul group from Samsung Elementary School in Tanhyeon-myeon, and performances by cultural and artistic communities such as ‘THE Gipeun Ensemble,’ ‘Misodream,’ and ‘Paju Great Band.’

In particular, this event was planned and directly prepared by the ‘Village Community Festival Promotion Committee,’ composed of 20 village activists who voluntarily participated, adding richness and diversity to the event.

The event will run from 1:30 PM with a pre-performance until 5 PM, with seating for seniors, a playroom for children, and a photo zone provided. For citizens unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on the Paju City Social Economy and Village Community Support Center’s YouTube channel.
