KAIST College of Business Celebrates 30th Anniversary This Year

Macquarie Korea announced on the 3rd that it held the ‘KAIST Graduate School of Finance Scholarship Award Ceremony’ on the 2nd at the Macquarie Korea office located in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

At this event, six students from the KAIST Graduate School of Finance each received a scholarship of 3 million won. The ceremony was attended by Kim Yong-hwan, CEO of Macquarie Korea, Choi Hyun-soo, Dean of the KAIST Graduate School of Finance, and the scholarship recipients.


CEO Kim Yong-hwan said, “Macquarie Korea, together with KAIST, aims to develop the financial industry and nurture high-level financial talent, and this year marks the fifth time we have awarded scholarships. We hope the students will grow into talents recognized in the global financial market.”


Dean Choi Hyun-soo of the Graduate School of Finance stated, “Macquarie Korea and KAIST have cooperated since 2006 to advance the Korean financial market. KAIST will strive to cultivate internationally competitive financial professionals through specialized curricula such as asset management, investment finance, financial engineering, and digital finance, as well as field-oriented education.”


Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the KAIST College of Business was the first in Korea to introduce a full-time MBA program in 1995. Currently, it operates six MBA programs including the Finance MBA, management engineering master’s and doctoral programs, and financial engineering programs at its Seoul campus, offering industry-specialized professional courses.
