Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Department of Companion Animal Studies Holds 1st Animal Health Technician Oath Ceremony

The Department of Companion Animal Science at Gyeongnam Information University recently held the 1st Animal Health Technician Oath Ceremony at the on-campus Culture Center Concert Hall.

This oath ceremony was organized to strengthen the ethics and sense of responsibility of second-year students in the Department of Companion Animal Science as animal health technicians. Along with the oath ceremony, a scholarship award ceremony, an entrepreneurship project exhibition awards ceremony, and a certification awarding ceremony were also held.

At the oath ceremony, about 50 second-year students from the Department of Companion Animal Science pledged with one heart to respect animal life and welfare and to continuously strive to improve the quality of animal health care.

President Kim Tae-sang encouraged the students in his congratulatory speech, saying, “We will firmly support the students of the Department of Companion Animal Science so that they can grow into talented professionals equipped with warm hearts and creative thinking.”

The Department of Companion Animal Science at Gyeongnam Information University was newly established in 2022 and has built a dedicated building for the department, fully equipped with various advanced practical facilities such as the Companion Animal Beauty Care Practice Room, Animal Behavior Correction Practice Room, Diagnostic Practice Room, Comprehensive Practice Room, and Pet Food Practice Room. Additionally, it was recognized for its infrastructure and capabilities by being selected as the only regional testing site for the national qualification exam for Companion Animal Behavior Instructors, which is being held for the first time this year.
