Kolon Global was recognized for its technological excellence by receiving two ministerial awards in the safety and environment sectors.

원본보기 아이콘Kolon Global announced on the 28th that it received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the ‘17th Construction Technology Research Best Practice Presentation’ held on the 27th at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. The award was given in the safety and environment category for ‘Road Site Management Using Digital Twin.’ This technology integrates real and virtual 3D data to proactively identify potential issues during the construction process in a virtual environment and optimize construction and operation management.
Kolon Global explained, “We are applying and advancing this technology at the Yeosu Hwatae-Baekya site, and by linking it with BIM data and drone photogrammetry technology, we will enhance on-site collaboration as well as safety and quality management capabilities.”
On the same day, at the ‘2024 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit and Korea Technology Awards’ held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Kolon Global also received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award for the ‘Low-energy Domestic Membrane Wastewater Advanced Treatment Technology Applying Non-Blowing Cleaning Method.’ The ‘Korea Technology Awards’ recognize outstanding new technologies and products with excellent technical achievements and significant industrial impact.
For over 30 years, Kolon Global has led the membrane water treatment field by domesticating water treatment membrane technology and developing new wastewater treatment technologies in line with the government’s advanced wastewater treatment facility policies, applying them to more than 70 treatment plants nationwide. Recently, by developing and disseminating world-class low-energy technology applying the non-blowing cleaning method, the company has significantly contributed to carbon neutrality through power savings and the advancement of industrial competitiveness.
A Kolon Global official stated, “As a result of our efforts in research and development and technological innovation in various fields such as environment and safety, we received two ministerial awards. We will continue to do our best to overcome the traditional limitations of the construction industry and sustain innovative growth through advanced technology demonstration and enhancement.”
Meanwhile, Kolon Global is accelerating digital transformation and smart construction based on various new technologies and construction methods. Operating teams such as the Smart Construction Team and Future Technology Team, Kolon Global holds over 370 intellectual property rights, including about 180 domestic and international patents, as well as green technologies and designs.
