The section where the Songhyeon 1-ri roundabout was installed is a straight road on Local Road No. 70, where accidents caused by vehicle speeding repeatedly occurred, raising concerns about traffic safety. To ensure traffic safety, the county completed the roundabout installation project with a total budget of 400 million KRW, of which 330 million KRW was supported by Gyeonggi Province.


The roundabout was established after gathering residents' opinions, and after its completion, the residents of Songhyeon 1-ri village said, "We can reduce concerns about traffic accidents, and we are satisfied as access to and from the village has become more convenient."


Choi Seon-gyu, Director of the Road Division, said, "We will continue to secure budgets for roundabout projects in Gyeonggi Province and promote the installation of roundabouts in places with traffic accident risks."


Governor Jeon Jin-seon, who attended the completion ceremony, said, "With the completion of the Songhyeon-ri roundabout, we can provide residents with a safer and smoother traffic environment," adding, "We will strive to ensure that traffic and road facility improvements that secure residents' safety allow smooth flow throughout Yangpyeong."
