Saturday Operation 'Saturday Plus' Adds One More Location

On the 25th, Shinhan Bank announced that it expanded the Evening Plus channels from 9 to 20. Considering that most office workers’ working hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, Shinhan Bank analyzed various data such as floating population in major commercial districts nationwide and the distribution of office buildings, and selected 11 additional optimal locations for service provision.

Shinhan Bank operates a ‘Digital Lounge’ where services can be processed via video consultation until 6 p.m. Among them, due to high customer satisfaction with Evening Plus, which operates until 8 p.m., and strong customer demand for service expansion, this additional expansion was carried out. Among commercial banks, Shinhan Bank’s Evening Plus is the only channel that allows major banking services at the counter to be processed until 8 p.m.

Additionally, Shinhan Bank expanded the specialized channel ‘Saturday Plus,’ which allows services via video consultation from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, by adding one more branch to a total of three, enhancing financial transaction convenience for customers who face restrictions on weekday banking services.

With the addition of 11 Evening Plus branches and 1 Saturday Plus branch this time, Shinhan Bank’s Digital Lounge now operates a total of 66 locations, including 20 Evening Plus and 3 Saturday Plus branches. Even in the general Digital Lounge, which is neither Evening Plus nor Saturday Plus, major counter services can be processed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

A Shinhan Bank official said, “We plan to continuously expand Evening Plus and Saturday Plus so that more customers can conveniently handle banking services even after business hours,” adding, “We will do our best to become an ‘Everywhere Bank’ that blends into customers’ lives anytime, anywhere.”

Meanwhile, on the 18th, Shinhan Bank opened an AI branch in Seosomun, Jung-gu, Seoul, with the concept of ‘coexistence of artificial intelligence (AI) and humans,’ applying AI technology to create a future-oriented branch, embarking on new challenges for digital innovation. The bank is also making various efforts to improve customer experience, such as applying generative AI models that allow AI bankers to gradually learn customer data and improve performance.
