Wando-gun Successfully Concludes 'Jeonnam Garden Festival'

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that the 'Jeonnam Garden Festival' held at Wando-eup Beach Park concluded successfully.

The 2024 Jeonnam Garden Festival, hosted for the second consecutive year, was held under the theme "Wando Terrace, a Representative Coastal Garden of Korea." This year, it received praise for being upgraded from last year with the concept of viewing Wando's pristine sea from one's own front yard. The exhibition period was also extended by one month, attracting approximately 440,000 visitors over seven months.

This festival saw continuous visits to remodeled flower beds featuring the 'Tree Tea House,' themed "Healing with a cup of tea in the subtropical forest," the 'Artist Garden,' and the charming personal 'Tiny House.' During the festival, it also contributed to revitalizing the local community and boosting tourism by linking with regional events such as the Jangbogo Seafood Festival and the Jeonnam Sports for All Grand Festival.

The county relocated works such as the garden (Tiny Tea House) and Wando Castle from the event site to representative tourist spots including the Wando Marine Healing Center, Jangbogo Park, and Wando Tower. To ensure the festival was not a one-time event and to enhance budget efficiency, the works were designed and installed from the planning stage to be movable and permanently usable.

County Governor Shin Woo-cheol stated, "I am pleased that the garden culture, which provides rest and healing in the daily lives of residents, has taken root and the garden festival held for two consecutive years has concluded successfully." He added, "We will continue to strive to create beautiful garden spaces unique to Wando."
