[Breaking] Court Sentences Lee Jae-myung to 1 Year Imprisonment, 2 Years Probation for 'Violation of Public Official Election Act'

On the 15th at 2:30 PM, during the sentencing trial of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for violations of the Public Official Election Act held at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 34 (Presiding Judge Han Sung-jin), the court found him guilty of false statement offenses under the Public Official Election Act for some remarks related to Kim Moon-gi, former Head of Development Division 1 at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, and statements regarding the change of land use in Baekhyeon-dong. The court sentenced Lee to one year in prison, suspended for two years.
