"KB Financial Supports Startup Overseas Expansion with Demo Day in Singapore"

KB Financial Group announced that on the 7th, it held a demo day in Singapore in collaboration with the Financial Services Commission, Korea Fintech Support Center, and Korea Growth Investment Corporation to support the overseas expansion of domestic startups. A demo day is an investment attraction activity where startups present their business direction, business model, and startup items to investment institutions.

Among the startups supported by KB Financial (KB Starters), fintech excellent companies fostered by the Financial Services Commission, and investee companies of the Fintech Innovation Fund, five startups were finally selected as participating companies after focusing on business models, investment history, and whether sales have been generated.

The participating companies are Across Technologies (AI-based asset management service), IoTrust (blockchain-based wallet service), Centbee (one-stop overseas remittance and payment solution), VillageBaby (childcare information platform), and XL8 AI (machine translation solution using AI). In addition to participating in the demo day, they also attended the 'Singapore Fintech Festival,' one of the largest global fintech exhibitions.

KB Financial launched KB Innovation Hub in 2015 during the tenure of former Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu and selects domestic startups with high future growth potential as 'KB Starters,' operating various support programs.

A KB Financial official said, "This demo day is an exemplary collaboration case where the government and private institutions cooperate to promote K-startups, and it will be a good program that supports Korean companies aiming to enter the global market in the future." He added, "KB Financial will continue to provide generous support so that domestic startups can grow into global unicorn companies based on the philosophy that 'supporting innovative companies is an investment in the future.'"
