Handonghun "Live Broadcast Needed for Lee Jaemyung Sentencing Trial"

"Russia-Ukraine Observer Delegation Dispatch Does Not Require National Assembly Approval"
"Lee Jae-myung's Perjury Coaching Failure? ... Ignorant Talk"

Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, said to the Democratic Party of Korea, "I want to ask why people are not prioritized first when it comes to issues related to North Korea." This was in response to the Democratic Party's opposition to the government's dispatch of an observation team to the Russia-Ukraine war. It appears he criticized the Democratic Party by using former President Moon Jae-in's presidential campaign slogan, "People First."

At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 7th, Representative Han said, "The Democratic Party is not prioritizing national interests but is mobilizing diplomacy and security to criticize the government and the People Power Party."

He added, "They are distorting, inciting, and criticizing the government's decision to send an observation team to Ukraine," and emphasized, "The Democratic Party claims that sending even one soldier constitutes dispatching troops. They argue that if the government dispatches troops to a war zone without the National Assembly's consent, they will consider legal measures including the impeachment of the Minister of National Defense."

Representative Han explained the lack of National Assembly consent for the government's dispatch of observation teams by citing past cases. He said, "From 1993 to this year, regardless of the administration, over 1,100 people have visited more than 30 countries," and added, "Because National Assembly consent was not required. I strongly criticize the Democratic Party for distorting the essence by talking about the impeachment of the Minister of National Defense."

Representative Han also pressured Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, who is facing sentencing this month on charges of 'subornation of perjury.' He said, "Lee and the Democratic Party claim that the subornation of perjury failed," and pointed out, "With all due respect, that is nonsense." This means that since Kim, who was asked by Lee to commit perjury, has admitted to perjury, Lee's charge of subornation of perjury is clear.

Representative Han reiterated his request to the court to broadcast Lee's sentencing live. He said, "The public should be able to watch this trial closely," and added, "Live broadcasting of sentencing is not unprecedented. Is there any trial that attracts more public attention than this one?" He continued, "Of course, the charges themselves are trivial, but their impact is enormous," and added, "There is sufficient justification and necessity for live broadcasting."
