Guri City operates the nation's first access certification system in pet playgrounds located in Inchang Central Park and Galmae Cooperative Park.
Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 30th that it has recently introduced the nation's first access authentication system at pet playgrounds in Inchang Central Park and Galmae Cooperative Park.
The pet playgrounds equipped with an access authentication system to support safe and convenient use by pets and their owners are public facilities incorporating the recently spotlighted IoT technology, and are one of the key projects for creating a pet-friendly city.
The introduction of the ‘Pet Pass’ is the first case nationwide to implement an automatic door opening and closing operation system at pet playgrounds. Moving away from the traditional handwritten logbook method, the doors automatically open and close upon QR code recognition, preventing personal information leakage and significantly enhancing access management.
Additionally, real-time management of access data and 100% unmanned operation are expected to greatly improve facility operation efficiency.
In particular, through technology that automatically links with the National Animal Protection Information System, access by unregistered pets is restricted, thereby strengthening safety within public facilities and playing an important role in pet protection and management.
Citizens wishing to use the pet playgrounds in Inchang Central Park and Galmae Cooperative Park can obtain QR codes via their smartphones, and usage is also possible through the mobile carrier PASS app.
Meanwhile, Wooyeon Company, which provides the ‘Pet Pass’, is a pet tech startup offering various services based on pet big data and authentication solutions.
Currently, Guri-si operates four pet playgrounds: ▲ Jangja Lake Park (2000㎡), ▲ Galmae Cooperative Park (720㎡), ▲ Inchang Central Park (700㎡), and ▲ under Wangsukgyo Bridge (300㎡). The pet playground at Jangja Lake Park, which currently manages access logs manually, also plans to introduce and operate the ‘Pet Pass’ access authentication system as soon as possible.
