Gyeonggi Yangju Urban Corporation (President Lee Heung-gyu) announced on the 30th that it has been selected as an 'Excellent Weather Management Company' for the fourth consecutive time, hosted by the Korea Meteorological Administration.

The corporation was first selected as an 'Excellent Weather Management Company' in 2015 and has been chosen for four consecutive times up to this year due to its active use of weather information to ensure safety from weather disasters.

The 'Excellent Weather Management Company' system selects companies that apply weather information to management to reduce costs, prevent human and material damage, and increase management efficiency, with the designation valid for three years.

As part of weather management, the corporation's efforts evaluated as exemplary include ▲establishing and operating a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters ▲implementing safety measures and response drills for facilities according to weather conditions ▲enforcing emergency reduction measures based on fine dust concentration ▲operating a solar power generation monitoring system ▲installing weather information kiosks and air quality information electronic display boards ▲conducting disaster and accident preparedness response drills.

President Lee Heung-gyu stated, “We will continue to actively utilize weather information to effectively manage climate risks and do our best to ensure that citizens can use the corporation’s facilities with peace of mind.”
