Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) operates the ‘Green Volunteer Group,’ which carries out regular environmental cleanup activities in collaboration with local residents.

The ‘Green Volunteer Group (Leader Hyun Jae-ho)’ is an eco-friendly organization that improves urban aesthetics through environmental maintenance and crime prevention activities. The group consists of 90 members, including local residents, employees of Children’s Grand Park, and public officials.

The activity area covers approximately 230 meters from Exit 4 of Achasan Station to the back gate of Children’s Grand Park. They regularly patrol this section to conduct cleaning, weeding, and surveillance work.

In addition to the members, volunteers will be recruited as needed to help create a pleasant environment.

The launch ceremony was held on the 30th with about 100 attendees, including Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho and members of the Green Volunteer Group. After the presentation of appointment certificates, they began their first activity by voluntarily carrying out cleaning work.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, “I hope the newly launched Green Volunteer Group will serve as a model case for protecting our environment and inspire many people. I thank everyone who participated in the volunteer work and will continue to strive to provide a clean and safe urban environment.”
