Choi Hojung, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, held a meeting at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 28th and urged the establishment of a close cooperation system between the Seoul Metropolitan Council and Seoul City to ensure the safety of citizens.


In particular, Chairperson Choi said, "Tomorrow marks the 2nd anniversary of the 10·29 Disaster," adding, "There are still large crowds in areas like Hongdae Street these days. I hope special attention will be paid to safety prevention."


At the meeting, Vice Chairpersons Lee Jonghwan and Kim Inje, Representative Council Members Lee Seongbae and Seong Heumje, and nine standing committee chairs from the Seoul Metropolitan Council attended, along with about 20 executives including Kim Bongsik, Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.


The Seoul Metropolitan Council delegation first toured the 112 Comprehensive Security Situation Room and the Integrated Traffic Information Center.


They then received reports on the key projects for the 2025 autonomous police initiative and security policies, followed by a Q&A session.


Kim Bongsik, Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated, "We receive many requests regarding daily safety complaints such as preventing children's traffic accidents, and we will respond actively," adding, "Through active cooperation with Seoul City, including crime prevention strategy meetings, we will protect the safe daily lives of citizens."


Chairperson Choi said, "The Seoul Metropolitan Council and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency share the common goal of prioritizing citizens' lives and safety," and added, "We will take an interest in and support the projects promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to ensure there are no difficulties."
