Goyang Sono Defeats LG for 3 Consecutive Wins at Opening... Lee Dong-hwan Throws First Pitch

The professional basketball team Goyang Sono Skygunners surged to a solo lead by winning their first three games of the 2024-2025 season.

Sono defeated Changwon LG Sakers 82-77 in a home game of the 2024-2025 KCC Professional Basketball regular season held on the 26th at Sono Arena in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Lee Dong-hwan, mayor of Goyang Special City, attended the home opener of the 2024-2025 season for Goyang Sono Skygunners, threw the ceremonial first pitch, and watched the game.

The match between Sono and LG attracted much attention as a clash between undefeated teams at the start of the season. With this victory, Sono secured their third win and took the solo lead. On the other hand, LG suffered their first loss of the season (3 wins, 1 loss) and dropped to second place.

Sono’s Allen Williams led the team to victory, recording 18 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, four other players scored double digits: Lee Jung-hyun (18 points), Jung Hee-jae (14 points, 8 rebounds), Choi Seung-wook (12 points), and Lee Jae-do (10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), contributing to the team's powerful offense.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan expressed his support for the team’s championship hopes, saying, “I hope Goyang Sono Skygunners bring great joy to the citizens of Goyang with their wonderful games.”
