On the 25th, President Yoon Seok-yeol approved the renewal of the terms for four prosecutors from the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit who are investigating allegations of external pressure in the Marine Corps soldier Chae Sang-byeong's death case.
The Presidential Office announced that President Yoon approved the renewal of the terms for the prosecutors whose terms were about to expire.
The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit had recommended the renewal of the four prosecutors responsible for the Chae Sang-byeong investigation in August, ahead of their term expiration on the 27th.
The investigation team is probing allegations of external pressure in the Chae Sang-byeong death case, as well as allegations of 'nomination interference' involving President Yoon and First Lady Kim Geon-hee.
