Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun Attends '2024 Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival'

Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, is delivering a congratulatory speech at the '2024 Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival' held on the 19th in the 'Starlight Street' area in front of Deokjeong Station in the district.

Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun attended the '2024 Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival' held on the 19th in front of Deokjeong Station's 'Starlight Street' area and encouraged the efforts of the officials involved.

According to Yangju City on the 21st, this event, planned as part of the Deokjeong urban regeneration project to revitalize the local commercial district and establish and nurture a sustainable festival model, was successfully concluded thanks to the 'sweat and dedication' of the 'Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival Committee' composed of local residents.

The festival featured a variety of performances starting with a pre-event show, including congratulatory performances by local office worker band 23.5 Degrees, trot singer Jeong Deul-le, and band Springs, along with diverse experience programs such as knot craft, face painting, horticulture programs, and Reels experience.

Additionally, the food zone, participated in by merchants from 'Deokjeong Starlight Street' and Deokjeong Oil Market Street, was bustling with visitors throughout the event.

Seojeong University in the area provided free pet care services, including grooming for companion dogs, and students from Yewon Arts University delivered impressive performances, receiving great responses from the audience.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “This was an important event where we could confirm the driving force for local residents to regenerate their own community,” adding, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the local residents who personally prepared every detail from the planning stage of this ‘Deokjeong Starlight Village Festival.’”
