Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that it held the "2nd Youth Flea Market" on the 19th at the small square of Gyeongan-dong Administrative Welfare Center.

The event was organized by the Education, Culture, and Leisure Division of the Gwangju City Community Security Council, featuring 14 sales booths operated directly by youth and 10 experience booths prepared by related organizations such as the Volunteer Center, Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, Youth Training Center, and Toechon Youth Culture House.

Youth sold secondhand goods and handmade crafts they personally prepared, with 10% of the proceeds planned to be used to help vulnerable groups within the community. The experience booths offered a variety of programs including fun archery, media counseling, and face painting.

Additionally, celebratory performances by Seoul Jangsin University’s singing group and the Youth Training Center’s dance club were held together, enhancing the event’s atmosphere.

Lee Hwang-yong, the private chairman of the Community Security Council, said, “Through this project, I hope that Gwangju’s youth have come to understand the meaning of resource circulation, grasp economic principles, and cultivated cultural sensitivity through diverse experiences.”

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “I hope that today’s event will further expand the cultural space for youth in Gwangju City,” adding, “We will continue to work together to implement vibrant policies for future generations in Gwangju City.”
