On the 21st, the Gwangju-si Public Health Center in Gyeonggi Province conducted free mobile medical services for people with disabilities at the Opo Health Living Support Center in collaboration with Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital.

This free mobile medical service targeted 35 people with disabilities who had difficulty moving. A medical team of 12 from Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital and a dental treatment bus visited to provide dental and Korean medicine treatments.

The dental treatment included five items such as oral examinations, scaling, and cavity treatment (resin), while the Korean medicine treatment included four items such as herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, and basic examinations (blood pressure, blood sugar, anemia, glycated hemoglobin).

Mr. Choi (54), who has a severe brain lesion disability and received dental treatment, said, "I wanted to have a dental checkup once, but I hesitated a lot because I was physically uncomfortable and had difficulty moving," adding, "I am really grateful that you came directly to provide the examination."

Regarding this, a city official said, "It is very meaningful to provide necessary medical care to people with disabilities who have difficulty moving through this mobile medical service," and added, "We will continue to do our best so that people with disabilities who have low medical accessibility can conveniently receive medical services."

Meanwhile, the Gwangju-si Public Health Center is making efforts to improve the health rights and reduce social participation inequality of people with disabilities through programs such as the integrated rehabilitation program for severe brain lesions, exercise classes for people with disabilities, early community adaptation programs for discharged patients, leisure and culture classes, as well as establishing a one-stop rehabilitation health governance system.
