The Democratic Party's Former Regime Political Oppression Countermeasures Committee stated at the National Assembly on the 21st, during the National Assembly inspection of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, that "the prosecution is conducting reckless investigations against the previous administration."

The Democratic Party's Former Regime Political Oppression Countermeasures Committee held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall that afternoon, saying, "The prosecution suddenly conducted a search and seizure not only of the former Minister of Unification but also of Unification Ministry employees and the current Unification Ministry building," adding, "The reason given is that the plane used by the art troupe that visited North Korea for the 2018 'Spring is Coming' performance was Eastar Jet, which is absurd and outrageous." Committee Chairperson Representative Kim Young-jin claimed, "When they found nothing in the essence of the former President Moon Jae-in's son-in-law's employment at Eastar Jet, they started an irrelevant investigation."

Members of the Democratic Party's Committee for Measures Against the Previous Regime's Oppression visited the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 27th of last month. On this day, they demanded measures regarding the prosecution's investigative conduct during the recent investigation of former President Moon Jae-in's family.

Representative Kim criticized the prosecution's search and seizure of the Unification Ministry as "political maneuvering to be judged by public opinion rather than by law," and said, "The prosecution, which concluded 'no charges' against Kim Geon-hee, seems to be trying to imprison everyone related to the previous administration." He continued, "The prosecution's actions to this extent ironically indicate that the investigation related to former President Moon's son-in-law is stagnant," and added, "They have no confidence in holding responsibility legally, so they are conducting a public opinion campaign to hide the substantive truth."

On the same day, the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee held a National Assembly inspection targeting the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. During the inspection, there were confrontations between the ruling and opposition parties regarding the 'investigation into Mrs. Kim's stock manipulation allegations' and the opposition's push for the 'impeachment of the prosecution leadership.'

The committee concluded the press conference by stating, "No matter how long it takes, we will definitely hold those responsible accountable." Members of the committee include Chairperson Representative Kim, as well as Representatives Kim Young-bae, Yoon Gun-young, and Han Byung-do, who served in the Moon Jae-in administration, along with Representatives Kim Dong-a, Park Gyun-taek, and Han Min-su.
