Gurye Jirisan Piagol Autumn Foliage Festival to be Held on the 26th

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that it will hold the "48th Jirisan Piagol Autumn Foliage Festival" on the 26th at Jirisan Piagol, famous for its Samhong (三紅), where the mountains, water, and people in between are dyed red.

Hosted by the Jirisan Piagol Autumn Foliage Festival Promotion Committee (Chairman Son Dae-sam), this year's festival will welcome tourists at the newly renovated venue.

This year, instead of the large parking lot at Yeongoksa Temple, the main venue has been set from Jikjeon Village to the Samhongso area, allowing visitors to enjoy the vividly colored autumn leaves up close.

The festival begins at 10 a.m. with the "Autumn Foliage Ritual" at the Shiitake Mushroom Site, where prayers for the prosperity and peace of the residents will be offered to the mountain spirit. As a pre-performance, dynamic calligraphy by artist Kim So-young is prepared to provide visitors with a unique artistic experience.

In front of the first house at the foot of the mountain, the "Samhongso Autumn Foliage Trail Walk" event will take place along the autumn mountain path. Registration is available on-site for the first 100 participants, and those who complete the walk will receive a small commemorative gift.

Additionally, through the "Autumn Foliage Photo Contest," winners and outstanding entries will be awarded 24K mini gold bars shaped like autumn leaves and special products from Gurye-gun. Throughout the festival grounds, a "Autumn Foliage Treasure Hunt" will also be held, adding more fun for families and friends.

A county official stated, "As many tourists are expected to visit this festival, we will do our best to manage traffic and safety to ensure a safe festival without accidents."
