Yeoncheon Dangposeong Starlight Festival Receives Model Festival Award

The Misan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee of Yeoncheon-gun received the Model Festival Award at the 12th Korea Challenge Festival hosted by the Korea Challenge Foundation.

The Misan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 21st that it received the Model Festival Award at the 12th Korea Challenge Festival hosted by the Korea Challenge Headquarters.

Lee Jeung-hee, chairman of the Misan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "The difficult times when the flowers that the residents of Misan-myeon planted one by one at Dangposeong on a hot summer day were all knocked down by heavy rain and had to be replanted flash through my mind like a slideshow," adding, "I am very honored to receive the 'Model Festival Award' and would like to thank the residents of Misan-myeon and the residents' autonomy committee members who worked hard to prepare the festival."

Lee Soon-mi, head of Misan-myeon, said, "On behalf of Misan-myeon, I would like to express my gratitude to the visitors who came to the Starlight Festival, and we will strive to develop it into a model local festival that can widely promote Yeoncheon Dangposeong (Historic Site No. 468), where history and nature coexist."
