To discover the next generation of talent in the venture capital (VC) industry, Korea Venture Investment and the Korea VC Association have begun recruiting trainees for the 11th VC New Talent Training Program (KAVA).
According to Korea Venture Investment on the 21st, approximately 40 trainees will be selected through document screening and interviews by December, and the application period is until the 24th of next month. Applications can be submitted on the Korea VC Training Center website.
KAVA is a representative training program for cultivating professional personnel in the VC industry. From 2015 to last year, it has produced 278 graduates over seven sessions. This program is operated as the 11th session, considering continuity with the previous KAVA programs run three times by Korea Venture Investment since 2010.
The training will be conducted over about 180 hours during an 8-week period from January to March next year. It focuses on practical content necessary for work, including a comprehensive understanding of the VC industry, investment cases by sector, related laws, and how to prepare investment review reports. The certificate of completion meets the "requirements for registration as a venture investment professional with education completion conditions" under the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Promotion of Venture Investment, and outstanding trainees will be offered VC internship opportunities.
A VC CEO stated, "There is currently no VC recruitment-linked program that can replace KAVA training," adding, "Investment officers who completed the training earlier are actively working in the industry. The practical applicability is high, and the network among trainees greatly helps industry activities."
