Ulsan City will hold the inauguration ceremony and forum of the Biohealth Industry Association at 10 a.m. on the 17th at Haedong Hall, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
This event was organized to build a network among industry, academia, research, and government in the biohealth industry and to promote the development and competitiveness of the biohealth industry through mutual communication and cooperation.
The event will be held in two parts: the first part is the inauguration ceremony and the second part is the forum, attended by about 50 people including Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, BioCom California, UC San Diego, and the Biohealth Industry Association.
In the first part, the inauguration ceremony, the purpose of establishing the association and its operational direction will be explained, followed by an introduction to government biohealth industry policies and support projects, as well as Ulsan City's biohealth-related support projects.
In the second part, the forum will include an introduction to the BioCom California Association and the California health (bio) industry, along with a session for suggestions and Q&A, providing an opportunity for information sharing and communication.
In particular, a promotional space will be provided for companies belonging to the association to showcase their technological capabilities to the BioCom California delegation visiting to celebrate the inauguration, which is expected to serve as a stepping stone for these companies to enter overseas markets.
Ulsan City plans to continuously expand the participation of companies and institutions in the Biohealth Industry Association by starting discussions with about 20 companies, four research institutes including the Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology, and four universities including UNIST, based on this inauguration ceremony.
Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, said, “The voices from the field are most important for industrial development, and organic communication among industry, academia, research, and government is essential for this. With the inauguration of the Biohealth Industry Association, the industry network will be further strengthened, and through this, Ulsan’s biohealth industry competitiveness is expected to take a significant leap forward.”
In January of this year, Ulsan City signed an agreement to foster the biohealth industry with the city of San Diego, a biohealth industry hub, UC San Diego, and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
